Kevin Colleran Babson College Commencement Speech 2015
Today was an amazing day for me. I was honored and humbled to have been selected by my Alma Mater, Babson College, to deliver the 2015 Commencement Address to the Undergratuate Class. I was also given the great honor of receiving an Honorary Doctorate Degree at the same time. Additionally, and coincidentally, I was also able to share my story in the Business section of today's Boston Globe newspaper. While I had originally been asked to give this address back in November, I ended up throwing my first draft away once I had my accident two months ago. Having brain surgery and being an hour or two from death gave me more reason to reflect on my life and try to share some more meaningful messages and lessons with the graduates. I was very nervous speaking to an audience of 3,000 but it is now done and I am very happy with the outcome. Thank you to all of you who have sent me such incredible notes, messages, texts, and hugs. I am deeply appreciative and am touched by all of the love and support I received today, 2 months ago after the accident, and the 34 years leading up to that. Thank you to my amazing wife, Erica Colleran, for supporting me through all of these adventures (both fun and not-so-fun) and Thank YOU! If you would like to see the 13 minute video of the speech it can be found below. The transcript cane be found here http://on.fb.me/1B4miRs
